MM3-WebAssistant - Proxy Offline Browser
Browse the web even when your Mac is offline
MM3-WebAssistant - Proxy Offline Browser allows you to save web pages you visit on your Mac, and access them in your browser, even when your Mac is offline. Once everything is set up, the program works completely automatically.
It works as a proxy server behind your browser, caching all the pages you visit, to your drive. So, for it to start working, your browsers proxy settings will have to be properly set up.
You can switch between online and offline mode. Offline mode allows you to browse pages stored in cache, when your computer is offline. When using online mode, newly visited pages are stored in cache and pages that already exist in cache are updated.
Also, when browsing in online mode, pages that are stored in cache will be opened from cache, provided they have not changed since they were last cached, and this in turn will speed up loading times of your online browsing.
All the items that are stored in cache are also marked in your browser, allowing easier identification of what can be accessed on a particular web page, when browsing in offline mode.
Many configurational options are also available within the app, enabling you to fine tune different parameters, such as filters for stripping session identifiers from the URL, amongst others. You can also set the app to start with your browser, so you will never have to worry if pages have been cached.
